Forensics Tournament - Smokey Mountain Invitational

C/LTC Stephanie Alu and C/MAJ Braden Trent... traveled to Gatlinburg, Tennessee where they spent two days competing against dozens of teams in a forensics (acting) competition. C/MAJ Trent was able to secure a place in semifinals with his Declamation speech about Navy Seal Training and was awarded a medal for his placing in semifinals. C/LTC Alu was also able to secure a place in semifinals for her Declamation speech about HIV/AIDS where she went on to place in the final round, scoring 2nd place overall. C/LTC Alu also secured a place in semifinals with her Program Oral Interpretation event where she wove together two poems and a play into one 8 min piece in which the overall theme was about a moment in life that changes us forever. She went on to break into finals and placed 5th overall. Science Hill High School placed 3rd overall, a feat made possible by C/MAJ Trent and his partner's efforts in competing in Public Forum Debate. |
